FILADELFIA EN EL SEMICINCENTENARIO

City Hall, October 9 – December 4, 2026

Creative Philadelphia’s Art In City Hall program, in partnership with the offices of Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Councilmember Quetcy Lozada, issues a call for art.

For this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month, we invite artists to interpret the significance of America’s Semiquincentennial. What does it mean to be a Hispanic Philadelphian in this context, during this time? Artists are encouraged to explore cultural heritage and legacy and reflect on contemporary social issues and personal narratives.

Exhibition Location: 2nd, 3rd & 4th Floor

YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW, a Collective Futures Exhibition

Muse Gallery, September 30, November 1, 2026

Newspaper, 20”x20”, 2026, acrylic on canvas, hand stamp, and manual aerograph blown paint

Through my piece I pay tribute to Native Americans, the original inhabitants of this land currently called the United States of America. My piece is inspired by some areas of an ancient rock  –now historic monument- in Utah, covered in Native American carvings rock, named Newspaper Rock dated back about 2,000 years as a form of communication.
