My recent series titled Meditations was created during the COVID-19 quarantine. This new body of work was intended to interpret the current moment of the whole of humanity: the isolation, the loneliness, and at the same time, the connections that unite us as humans, all giving us hope.
During the process and through daily meditation, an internal calmness has allowed me to focus on my creative process. It has also allowed me to revisit my roots and accept inspiration from Mother Earth's palette.
While painting, I listen to The Buddha’s Tears, Armenian music performed with its ancient traditional instrument, the duduk. It imparts a powerful connection and with it, the sounds of a collective lament inherent of the current situation.
