My series titled Still Atacama, is inspired by my previous (1980-1995) and later (2016, 2018) trips along with my husband Ricardo Guajardo, who is also a designer, to archeological sites especially rich in rock art, in the Atacama Desert, in northern Chile.
In this series I am working consciously inspired by the impressive geography, and the magical environment and atmosphere of this Desert. I have also returned to the research and inspiration in rock art as I used to do in my art beginning (during the 80’s and 90’s). I have received also inspiration of other magic places like Humberstone and Santa Laura, two former saltpeter works, located in the Atacama Desert Tarapaca region and declared UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2005.
